이 노래는 All the pretty horses, Hush-a-bye로도 알려진 미국의 전통 자장가랍니다. 옛날 아프리카계 미국인(흑인노예)들이 주인집 아이들을 돌보느라 자신들의 자녀를 보살피지 못했던 상황을 노래한 것이라고 해요. 그래서 그런지 구슬픈 멜로디가 마음을 찡하게 만드는데, 주인집 아이들은 이 자장가를 들으며 무슨 생각을 했을까요..? 궁금해집니다.
